I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the Traverse City Michigan area. When we go, we stay at a big old farmhouse in the middle of cherry and apple orchards and a couple of hundred yards from this beach. It’s on the Old Mission Peninsula, a long narrow jut of land that runs straight north 20 miles from Traverse City, bisecting Grand Traverse Bay. It’s beautiful country, pretty much straight east of Minneapolis, but that darned Lake Michigan is in the way. A cloudy windy day, not good for sailing.
